Parish School of Religion P. S. R.

St. Henry Parish School of Religion believes that all children in the parish have a right to know
the love of their God through the study of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and
the wonderful gifts and mysteries of our faith.  As a community of believers, the children build friendships through projects and exercises that will last a lifetime.

The PSR staff is enriched with a volunteer staff who are inspired to share their faith
and love of God with the young people of our parish.  Classes meet Sunday morning
from 9:00 to 10:15 am from September through May.

In order for your child to receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation,
your child MUST  attend classes the entire year prior.
If you have any questions please contact Kim.

August 10, 2020

Good morning and I hope all are well …

I know this email comes a bit late, but Father York and I wanted to get through 1st Communion and then discuss PSR for this year.  We have now had that opportunity.

It has been decided that PSR will be taught in person.  Given the number of kids in PSR and the fact that the rooms in the CLC (f/k/a St. Henry School) are pretty spacious, social distancing can be achieved.  It was decided to proceed in this manner so as not to disrupt the students’ religious education, especially for those who should be receiving a sacrament this coming year.

There are a couple things that will be a bit different: as usual, the students will gather in the gym upon arriving for PSR, but they are to have a mask and their temperature will be taken.  We ask that the kids bring their books back and forth each week – they cannot leave their books in class.  In addition to all the precautions the CLC has been implementing due to state regulations, Father York has invested in a professional disinfectant sprayer which will be used in all classrooms.

I ask that you please send a response to the email below if your child is planning on returning to PSR this year so I know how any books to order for each grade level. See the link to the left for the required registration forms.  If you could fill them out and return them to me via email that would be most helpful as well.  The fee can be sent in with your child on the first day of class.

The first day of PSR will be on Sunday, September 13th.  PSR starts at 9:00 a.m. and goes until 10:15 a.m.  Again, the kids are to meet in the gym; no one is to go directly to the classrooms on the lower level.

As always if you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me.

If you no longer have a child in PSR and have received this email, please let me know so I can take you off our list.

Thank you.

Kim~~
